Don’t be a chicken, eat the chicken!
If your friends put out a bottle of this hellishly hot sauce from the top of the Scoville scale especially for you every time you sit down to eat and if cheese is your little weakness, then this recipe is MADE FOR YOU. If you like things a bit milder, then make it less spicy (after all, you're the chef in the kitchen today). Above all, however: "Don't be a chicken" as they say in the US, the spiritual home of the BBQ. So: be brave and get grilling! Anyway, as you'll freely admit, the bacon blanket is totally irresistible. Fire up the grill and prepare for a blast of heat!
Step 1: Get everything ready
The first step for the grill king (that's you) is: prepare your grill for indirect heat and heat it to 175 ° C. Grab the most important thing first - your chicken. Lay the chicken breast fillets side-by-side between two layers of cling film. Start pounding the chicken with all your strength (let it all out!) until it's as flat as a flounder. Next, sprinkle salt and pepper on the fillets. That's step one complete.
Step 2: A short workout (say cheeeese!)
Yes, you read that correctly. But before you can sit back and relax, there's a job to be done that may cause you some exertion. Now you've got to grate the Cheddar. I know it makes your arms hurt, but it's all about the flavour, baby.
Step 3: Bring everything together that belongs together (the filling)
Now combine the cheddar with the cream cheese and add the jalapeño rings to the mixture. Then smother the chicken with this spicy filling. Finally, just close up the sides and roll up everything inside.
Step 4: Finish wrapping the package (AT LAST it's time for the bacon)
Before you can play with the fire, you must unite the chicken rolls with the bacon. To do this, take two slices of bacon per roll and wrap the meat (chicken) with even more meat (bacon). It works like a dream.
Step 5: A generally torrid affair (get there to the grill!)
Is the grill ready for your chicken rolls? Then get started! Grill them for about 25 to 30 minutes with indirect heat. For that ultimate BBQ experience, brush the chicken rolls with Smoked BBQ Sauce every 5 minutes when turning the meat.
Step 6: Nearly ready. All you need to do now is ...
... let the rolls rest for 5 minutes, so that the smoky BBQ taste can develop properly. Then just "feel the heat of the moment"!
Well done, now you've learned how to grill the chicken rolls with fiery jalapeño and cheese filling!
